Synergy/Hevdestî Association for Victims in North and East Syria is a non-governmental, non-profit organization which aims to educate and provide a platform for victims to represent themselves and claim their rights. The need for the organization emerged following the Turkish military invasion of areas of Ras al-Ain/Serê kaniyê and Tal Abyad in North and Northeastern Syria in October 2019. Synergy was founded on March 11, 2021 to seek justice for the victims of conflict in North and East Syria, and to contribute to the process of accountability and justice.
The association chose the name “Synergy” (in Arabic Ta’azur and Kurdish Hevdestî) to reinforce the need for coexistence among the residents of North and East Syria, including the Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Armenians, Syriacs, Chechens, Circassians, and Turkmens. The association’s logo bears the name in four different languages: Kurdish, Arabic, Syriac and English, and its colors reflect the diversity of North and East Syria.
